Job Title: Product Design Engineer

Location: Latrobe, PA

 


Job Description:

Engineer as member of Global Product Engineering Turning team be responsible for development metal cutting tools, specifically turning tools and cutting inserts geometries; planning and executing projects independently as well as delegating responsibilities for completion of those projects accordingly. Will also establish technical and functional requirements for products; perform concept design, Finite Elemental Analysis and calculations; conduct experimental analysis and lab testing for design evaluation and defining operating limits. Interface with marketing, field sales, internal/external customers, technology and manufacturing teams in determining the need for and implementation of new products in production. Responsible for maintenance and extension of current product lines; presenting products internally and externally.
 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferred with experience as well as Master's Degree.
  • Skills of Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS, TWS and Deform preferred) and 3D modelling experience (NX Preferred);
  • Knowledge and experience in Manufacturing technology through the utilization of machine tools and related cutting tools;
  • Lab testing by metal cutting and experimental analysis to evaluate engineered solutions.
  • Ability to apply statistical and other mathematical tools, design of experiment, etc.
  • Project and team leadership skills.
  • Disposition for travelling for support of development and customer project.
  • Experience with applications in metal cutting.
  • Distinctive team work ability, performance-oriented, technical ability to communicate, responsible, approach to systematic problem solving, one’s own initiative.
