Job Title: Senior Product Design Engineer

Location: Latrobe, PA

Job Description:

As a member of the Indexable Milling Product Engineering team, the Engineer would be responsible for planning and executing New Product and Development projects independently and delegating responsibilities for completion of those projects accordingly, leading product development projects on a global basis as well as simultaneously being an active team member on various project teams to provide engineering support.  Establish technical and functional requirements for products based on past experience. Conduct experimental analysis to validate designs. Interface with Product Management, Field Sales, Customers, Corporate Technology, and Manufacturing in determining the need for and implementation of new products.  The incumbent would also be responsible for maintenance and expansion of existing product lines.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or 5+ years experience in cutting tools field. Preferred candidate will have experience in Metal Cutting and/or master’s degree or PhD.
• Finite Element Analysis skills (ANSYS, TWS and Deform preferred) and 3D modelling experience

       (NX Preferred)

• Knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes for steel and/or tungsten carbide products and /or in lab testing is desirable.
• Proficiency in Design of Experiments, Statistical Analysis, Problem Solving, and Analytical skills are a plus.
• Ability to apply statistical and other mathematical tools, design of experiment, etc.
• Project and team leadership skills.
• Disposition for travelling for support of development and customer project.
• Experience in applications of metal cutting tools is preferred.
• Distinctive teamwork ability, performance-oriented, technical ability to communicate, responsible, approach to systematic problem solving, one’s own initiative.
