Job Title: Emerge Program Associate – Commercial - US

Location - This program rotates between Kennametal facilities (4 rotations over 2 years). You will be assigned a location and Kennametal provides relocation assistance to help you get settled near your assignment location. We are accepting applicants from anywhere within the US. 

 

Kennametal’s Emerging Leadership Program

 

EMERGE, Kennametal’s early-career leadership development program, is focused on creating emerging leaders within Kennametal through diverse experiences to expand their perspectives, develop functional expertise, and accelerate career development.

 

EMERGE will equip participants with leadership, professional, and technical skills necessary to strengthen performance and integration among business functions. This immersive program is 2 years in duration with diverse functional rotations within Kennametal’s IT, Finance, Operations and Commercial business tracks. Participants must be willing to relocate or travel during the program. Post completion of the program, position placement will be into a role based on your strengths and interests, as well as business need at that time.

  • Commercial - Our Commercial Team combines a technical and business mindset to deliver the most valuable products, results and know-how to our customers every day.

  • IT - Our Information Technology Team is a trusted business partner translating needs into technical results and protecting our assets.

  • Technology – Our Technology team develops creative and new products to market in all our business segments

  • Finance -Our Finance team partners with the business every day to enable strategic decision making while delivering best-practice financial processes, measurement and follow through.

  • Operations -Our operations team is at the heart of what we do. Focused on manufacturing, supply chain and engineering, this team helps strengthen the results of our three business segments.

 

 

Commercial Track

Functional opportunities included within Kennametal’s Commercial Track include but are not limited to:

 

  • Participants within the Commercial Track have opportunities to rotate through Sales, Portfolio Management, Project Management, Marketing, Technology and Manufacturing.

  • Actively learn metal cutting and how our products deliver technical results to customers.

  • Understand how Kennametal generates revenue and helps us to uncover new channels for business growth.

 

Program Highlights

  • 1-week on-site onboarding and assimilation including leadership series, philanthropic activities, introduction to professional development trainings and plant site visits as 1 EMERGE Cohort.

  • Formalized coaching program.

  • Extensive and rewarding rotations within functional tracks (most rotations will require both office and plant assignments).

  • Ongoing learning journey to enhance technical, professional and leadership acumen.

 

Program Eligibility

  • Completing final academic year in: Business, Engineering, Operations, or Supply Chain.

  • Thorough organization, facilitation, leadership, project management and communication skills.

  • Excellent critical thinking approach to problem solving.

  • Candidates with a minimum overall GPA of a 3.2 preferred.
