Job Title: Tool Setter

Shift:  D Shift (Fr-Su)        

Hours: 5:00PM – 5:00AM

Location: Solon, Ohio

Overtime may be required

 

Requirements

 

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Trade school certificate preferred
  • 2 years manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CNC multi-axis machines as well as manual and NC lathes with the ability to select appropriate manufacturing methods, tooling, feeds, and speeds:  set up and operation
  • Familiarity with milling pockets
  • Must be able to operate precision measuring tools such as micrometers, height gauges, and calipers; and verify part quality
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow routers
  • Ability to read and understand operating procedures
  • Ability to perform basic shop math with knowledge of trigonometry functions
  • Ability to edit and troubleshoot CNC programs
  • 5S experience
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard for basic data entry
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, and SAP preferred

 

Tasks

 

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Manufacturing:

  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Select proper fixtures, tooling and gage insert for each order
  • Facilitate continuous improvement for department processes and procedures including run order and sequencing
  • Test tooling technologies
  • Identify opportunities to improve tool life
  • Set up and operate all related equipment and hand tools as necessary

  • Complete all necessary documentation, electronic data entries and communications accurately and timely.
  • Maintain regular attendance and perform duties in a timely manner, arriving and departing for assignments and meetings as required.
  • Be aware of all standard procedures and practices associated with the position and work to maintain compliance.
