An excellent opportunity has become available to join Kennametal as a Area Sales Representative. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business for Kennametal’s portfolio of cutting-edge products that are highly regarded as the industry’s most complete product line.

 

Working with our valued customers and driving our success, you will represent some of the industry’s most diverse and in-demand products. From milling cutters and carbide inserts, to solid carbide drills, tool holders and so much more, we offer our customers a broad portfolio for any metal working application.

 

The Area Sales Representative will be responsible for maximising sales opportunities. You will possess a sophisticated level of technical expertise that demonstrates why we are an acknowledged leader in the industry. This will require use of technical expertise with distribution, direct accounts or a combination of both.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Identify new sales opportunities and execute the sales strategy for the assigned geographical area.
  • Assess and evaluate direct and indirect customer needs to help develop the appropriate plan to meet and exceed targets.
  • Foster and maintain excellent working relationships with distributors and end users to develop and grow partnerships.
  • Negotiate contracts, programs and other agreements with customers.
  • Keep customers well informed of new technology developments and product innovations.
  • Regularly review market changes and dynamics to ensure opportunities are being pursued in-line with the company’s strategy.
  • Support and participate in team sales initiatives by sharing pertinent information for assigned accounts.
  • Work closely with application engineering to help determine the best technical solution for the customer’s requirements.
  • Prepare regular progress, status and forecast reports to management on the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Participate in Road Shows, Open Days and Trade Fairs.

 

Typical Education and work experience

 

  • A recognised qualification in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or time served apprenticeship.
  • Experience within the metal cutting or precision tooling industry.
  • Good understanding of contracts and previous experience leading commercial negotiations.
  • An In-depth understanding of the manufacturing industry and concepts associated with Kennametal Products.
  • An innovative and self-motivated salesperson whom is able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Proficiency with MS Office in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Excellent command of the English language.

 

Base Location

 

Home based with frequent travel to customer sites in the following post codes MK, SG, HP, AL, LU, CB, CM, CO, IP, NR.
