Inventory Control – 3rd Shift (Sign-On Bonus!)

Weekend work and OT required



Position Description:

This position is responsible for accurately weighing up charges to be melted, accounting for the inventory transactions made on the job, moving and locating revert and raw material to proper locations, and assisting the warehouse department in any task that is needed.


Essential Functions:

  • Accurately weigh out the raw material and revert powder into atomization charges, powder blends, wire blends, and rod line charges.
  • Accurately identify raw materials and revert powder and store securely in proper storage locations.
  • Physically identify raw and revert material with ID cards listing alloy/material, lot and pounds when putting into stock or changing weight.
  • Make proper entries to issue, move, or adjust revert powder in inventory.
  • Closely follow the production schedule to always keep ahead of the various production lines.
  • Identifies and implements procedures for ensuring that adequate inventory levels are present.
  • Comes up with ways to dispose of or sell obsolete items in the inventory.
  • Works with other teams including sales, shipping, and purchasing.
  • Ensures that inventory counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner.
  • Audits the facility’s entire inventory on a regular basis and provides reports to management.
  • Trains other employees in cycle counting and inventory control.
  • Files claims with manufacturers or sellers when defective goods are found in the inventory.
  • Instructs others on how and where to return defective goods.
  • Keeps a particular area for returned goods tidy and clean.
  • Keeps up with changing technologies such as computer software in order to remain valuable to his or her employer.
  • Follows all existing company policies and procedures.


Typical duties and tasks:

  • Regular attendance.
  • Assist in packing product on skids.
  • Assist in preparing ship-sets.
  • Unload trucks, identify and move incoming material to proper locations and note all discrepancies or damage on the deliverer’s bill.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, work saver, and weighing equipment.
  • Familiarity with QS/ISO procedures.
  • Ability to work with hand tools, packaging, and wrapping equipment.
  • Six months+ working in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and oral instructions.
  • SAP Experience required-at least 1 year of experience.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted; up to 100 pounds with mechanical assist.
  • Ability to adjust the schedule and work hours as dictated by production demands, including overtime.
  • Constant standing; frequent climbing on stairs/ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, grasping, feeling.
  • Visual acuity necessary to inspect and identify raw materials.
  • Subject to noise, vibration, moving parts, moving vehicles, dust, odors.
  • Ability to work alone, make judgments, attain tolerances.
  • PPE Required: steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, face mask, hearing protection, overhead hoists, powered industrial trucks, and other material handling devices/equipment.
  • Cannot have facial hair to properly wear face mask PPE.
