Product Manager Marketing – Round Tools

Latrobe, PA or Fuerth, Germany 

               

 

Job Summary

 

The Product Manager is responsible for a product portfolio within the Kennametal Round Tool Business Unit. The successful candidate will develop strategy and execution plans to profitably and innovatively grow a product line minimum 2X the market growth rate on a global scale.  There will be a regular need to communicate and collaborate with cross functional teams like Regional Sales and Product Specialist, RD&E, Manufacturing, Demand and Supply Planning and Purchasing.

 

Key Job Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and Implement the Portfolio Management Plan including the portfolio strategy, new product development in alignment with RD&E, commercialization of the new products and product life cycle management.
  • Achieve product category sales, market share growth and profitability to plan by region.
  • Develop a pipeline of new product ideas aligning with the commercial team’s needs.
  • Assess the competitive performance and pricing of the product category and adjust accordingly.
  • Support the global commercial teams with advanced level product training and roadmaps
  • Work closely with manufacturing on demand planning, costs controls and support the modernization efforts. 
  • Ability to provide technical direction in the development and manufacturing of round tools.

 

Education & Work Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Management.  M.B.A. preferred but not necessary
  • 3-5 years (or more) in an engineering, marketing, or sales role with project management preferably in the metalworking field
  • Competencies & Skills: Strategic Skill, Conceptual Ability, Learning Agility, Customer Focus, Change Management, Performance Driven & Results Oriented, Teamwork, Organizing & planning skills, Work ethics, Strong Data Analytical Abilities
  • Domestic travel <20%
