Plant Controller

New Albany, IN or Goshen, IN 

 

 

 

Summary:

Kennametal is seeking a Plant Controller to be based in either New Albany, IN or Goshen, IN. The Plant Controller will provide support for both manufacturing plants. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance activities for two manufacturing locations
  • Understand the business strategy related to, and conduct analyses for, sales, manufacturing and operating expenses, to enable effective decision making and to help develop the plants’ strategic vision
  • Complete the monthly close process, financial reporting, and budgeting and forecasting
  • Communicate the monthly, quarterly and annual results to allow a cross-functional team to understand the drivers of business performance
  • Understand and effectively communicate how strategic initiatives that are being evaluated can influence the cost of manufacturing products. 
  • Develop and manage the sales, manufacturing and operating expense budgets and reporting of actuals.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial policies, closing schedules, and budget and forecast deliverables
  • Oversee outsource financial providers and serve as the financial lead in AFE preparation.

 

Skills/Requirements:

  • 4-year secondary degree in Accounting or Finance
  • MBA preferred but not required
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with experience in a metallurgical or chemical facility a plus
  • SAP, Oracle or similar ERP system, standard costing, and cost accounting experience
  • In-depth, professional knowledge of manufacturing and expertise of a specialized field or multiple disciplines
  • Ability to understand business strategy
  • Ability to influence others, including business leadership and plant management
