Staff/Sr. Engineer, Insert Product Transfer Lead/Pressing, AME

This position works with all related Manufacturing plants worldwide, Product Engineering, Technology and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering in global insert product transfer projects and insert pressing technology for modernization efforts. The position will also lead pressing equipment installations, process improvements, troubleshooting efforts, along with evaluating and developing global pressing standards for manufacturing.

  • Lead Tianjin insert product transfer projects from biz case development to implementation, to qualification, to production launch.   
  • Develop functional specifications and acceptance criteria for insert pressing equipment and work with Sourcing to obtain proposals.
  • Evaluate proposals for insert pressing technical capability, work with a team to finalize vendor selection, and prepare AFE documentation to secure project funding.
  • After PO placed, work with selected vendor to finalize system design, controls package, and operator interface.  Complete Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test.
  • Lead installation of press machines in manufacturing, including the preparation of procedures and other manufacturing documentation necessary to run automation equipment.
  • Develop or transfer improved automation processes to manufacturing, which includes the modification of existing automation programs, mechanical systems….
  • Provide on-site assistance at manufacturing plants for trouble-shooting, quality improvements, capability issues, productivity improvement, machine performance tracking and capital purchases.




  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical, Automation, Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
  • 5-10+ years’ manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Powder metallurgy experience preferred.
  • Solid leadership and team work abilities.
  • Strong project management skills and global project experience preferred.
  • 20%-50% domestic/global travel are expected per project schedule.
