Manufacturing Manager

Asheboro, NC

Job Summary:

Manages a work area in a manufacturing or assembly function to achieve defined goals such as daily and monthly output schedules, quality levels, etc. Supervises the workforce directly or through the use of work leads/area supervisors. Develops production improvement and recovery plans in case goals are missed. Develops strategies to instill improvements in productivity and efficiency and is responsible for safety. Ensures workforce is adequately trained.

Responsibilities: 

• Manage day-to-day responsibilities of a function or small unit/department
• Develop tactical plans to achieve business results and provide feedback and input on strategy
• Responsible for overall production goal attainment to defined metrics for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Monitor processes and provide reports on progress and achievement of business objectives
• Manages team for overall performance including training, planning, scheduling, staffing, discipline through policy administration, and meeting production goals
• Optimize resource allocation and utilization
• Decisions are guided by set policies and procedures, business plans, resource availability, and functional objectives.
• Determines how resources are allocated within the area of accountability

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree, plus an advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience 
• 8 + years of experience in manufacturing preferred
• 3-5 years of management experience
