Job Title : QA Tester

Kennametal is looking for a contract role as QA tester, who will help drive the success of key Kennametal digital marketing and ecommerce initiatives. This individual will be part of the team that creates and executes QA test plans and test cases to ensure quality is delivered in the next testing cycle.
Primary Job Duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct functional testing that tests the functionality of the solution to ensure that the application is working correctly.
- Conduct manual and regression testing against all test cases to ensure that new code, functionality, or new releases have not introduced errors to existing functionality.
- Document Manual tests as a repeatable process, providing continual improvement and refinement.
- Document defects found, utilizing defect repository.
- Test the system capabilities to ensure functionality, interoperability, and data validation across distributed components the system.
- Conduct regularly scheduled manual or automated testing on multiple development environments to ensure code quality and stability.
- Work closely with various members of the requirements, development, test and deployment teams to develop, enhance, and maintain the necessary test artifacts, including test plans, test procedures and test scripts for all releases of the software.
- Work closely with business and systems analysts to verify and validate requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with developers to verify new functionality and perform smoke tests to validate their changes.
- Participate in regular scrum requirements and traceability sessions, developing test scenarios, conduct regular system testing, and documenting and tracking all test results for the program in accordance with defined processes.
- Create and Maintain Test Plans, including test procedures and reports for the testing of products and solutions
- Conduct and coordinate system, regression and performance testing
- Log and report issues related to program “bugs” and development not consistent with requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of full lifestyle testing, test case development, execution of test procedures
- Ability to write and execute acceptance tests and test cases is a must
- Write and execute manual and automated test scripts to support a Selenium automation script library
- 3+ years of experience with Selenium or another automated test suite is preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in software testing, including experience in the Agile/Scrum development lifecycle
- Programming experience in Java is preferred
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with others
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical field required (or equivalent experience)
