Job Summary


Senior programmer will develop machining process and programs for manufacturing of products in multiple axis machining centers. Works under the supervision of Lead Programmer. Works on programs like complex turning, Complex Milling & mill turn programs using GKAM. Takes responsibility of checking his own programs against checklist and provide regular feedback to supervisor.


Job Location: Bangalore



Key Responsibilities


•Creation of program using GKAM for square shank products.

•Create program using GKAM for all front-end cutting units and adaptors

•Create program for Milling cutters & Complex tools

•Modify existing GKAM templates.

•Should be able to prepare checklist and guidelines.

•Should take complete ownership of checked programs


Preferred Areas of Education, Certifications, and Skills


Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering with 5-8 yrs. of relevant experience


CAD Skills:

•Basic drawing reading, knowledge of NX modeling & drafting

•Create fixture and machine models with expression

•Understand application of modeling & CAM template.

•Creation of CAM operations in UG manufacturing module.

•Convert old UG manufacturing file to GKAM.

•Basics of GKAM for all locations as per documentation.

•Understanding of Vericut .



•Interpretation of MM production status

•Interpretation of MM routing

•Can make decision whether to change the NXC or not, when it is added to an ER.


Machining Knowledge:

•Able to check for manufacturing feasibility specific to plant.

•Able to understand the machining sequence.

•Understand process capability for specific operations.

•Knowledge of grades, coatings, and edge conditions.

•Application/Implication of cutting tools.

•Understanding of working tolerances and achieving the same.

•Interpretation / Application of Unit conversion.

•Selection of tools for different applications ( plant specific).

•Basic knowledge of CNC operations and machine kinematics.



Engineering Knowledge:

•Should be able to calculate balancing by hand calculations.

•Should have basic knowledge about FEA/DFMEA

•Should have basic knowledge of quality control. (Calculations of variations Mean/Sigma etc.)

•Calculation stress, strain and deflection of beams.

•Basic knowledge of heat treatment process.



Quality Management:

•Should be able to check the program against the input given.

•Should be able to check the program for manufacturing feasibility.

•Should be able to check the program against end application.

•Should be able to take decision for insufficient data.

•Should be able to prepare checklist and guidelines.

•Should take complete ownership of checked programs.
