Specialist Security (29610)


Roles & Responsibility

The IT Security Specialist position will provide security systems support.

  • Provide technical support for installed security systems
  • Maintain the integrity and security of enterprise wide systems and networks
  • Provide situational awareness support to include protect, detect, respond and recovery
  • As part of the team, support security initiatives through predictive and reactive analysis and articulating emerging trends to team
  • Manage ticket queue and provision access requests or security changes as requested
  • Work to resolve security issues within defined timeframes
  • Other duties as assigned

  • B.E & Bachelor Degree in any discipline with reputed University



  • Security certifications preferred (i.e. SANS Security Essentials, GSEC, Security +, GIAC, CEH, CISSP)



  • Minimum 1-year professional hands on security systems experience more that one of the following; User Provisioning, Email Systems, routers including policy/ACL creation/review and log review desired
  • Understanding or experience with Windows, FTP, UNIX and Azure a plus
  • Understanding of compliance and information security, including security policy and procedure implementation and risk assessment
  • Experience with Manufacturing industry and Industrial Control Systems is a plus
  • Familiar with state and federal regulations including: HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, GDPR and PCI
  • Knowledge of common protocols such as SNMP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, NTP, LDAP, KERBEROS, RADIUS, DNS, IKE, IPSEC, SSL/TLS, SSH and SFTP will be helpful
  • Knowledge of leading security systems and best practices is a plus



  • Demonstrated knowledge and desire to keep abreast of technology and security trends that impact information and physical security
  • Ability to multitask, often changing from one to another, without loss of concentration or composure
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Clearly and concisely expresses professional opinions with supporting rationale
  • Performs under stress or copes with frequent deadlines of interruptions without loss of efficiency or composure
  • Ability to work toward common organizational goals
  • Adapts to both working alone or as part of a team
