Senior Warehouse Operator

Summary

 

Acts as an operator within a warehouse moving and/or tracking of materials, supplies, or products. 

Goods Receipt, Goods Issue, Inventory Control accuracy of all products in the facility.

Accurately checks and packs orders of product.  Chooses the correct packing container and/or skid.  Scans information into the computer system.  Prepares and processes orders for shipment requiring Distribution knowledge.

Must possess a high level of accuracy.

 

Key Job Responsibilities

 

  • Warehouse worker responsible for processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Assists with all materials and supplies in the stores, facilities; audits goods received into warehouse.
  • Coordinates receipt, storage and shipment of materials, and related reporting in accordance with established procedures.
  • Safely handles product in an efficient and trained manner being mindful of personal and team safety
  • Proactively and accurately communicates updates while processing product using verbal, written (phone, email & TEAMS).
  • Works in multiple areas processing freight requiring different task actions, lifting requirements, and technology tools.
  • Identifies and reports problems/solutions to maintain service levels to both internal and external customer.
  • Uses Warehouse Management System to correct issues and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Facilitate proper processing of freight returned to vendors.
  • Packages oversize and specialized customer orders.
  • Spends 50% or more of work time on material handling equipment.
  • Spends balance of work time getting on/off material handling equipment building shipments and closing shipments.
  • Conduct housekeeping and general building maintenance.
  • Participates in team meetings to ensure that success is achieved for the entire distribution center and customers.

 

Complexity

 

  • Performs operational or manual tasks, primarily in manufacturing, supply chain or operational environments
  • Typically performs semi-skilled work requiring use of a powered industrial vehicle.
  • Physical handling of packaged and unpackaged material weighing up to 70 lb.throughout the course of an 8 hour work day.
  • Completes work with a limited degree of supervision.

 

 

 

Education, Experience and Skills

 

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5-8 Years Experience.
  • Typically, does not require vocational training or a university degree.
  • Has proficiency through job-related training and considerable work experience.
  • Regularly provides guidance to others with less experience.
  • May act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.

 

Required Licenses & Certificates:

  • Forklift Operator’s license.
