Job Summary and Mission

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the overall coordination, status reporting, and execution of major initiatives (generally global and/or cross-functional). The primary role and responsibilities will include the leadership, planning, development, organization, and maintenance of the project timelines and resource plans, preparation of presentations, status updates, change management and other communication tools and managing and overseeing financial activities related to the project. Also act as a liaison between business functions, identifying key stakeholders, and ensuring alignment is being facilitated among process owners. Manages full project life cycle including change management to ensure quality services throughout the organization. Coordinates adjustments throughout the project life cycle to meet deadlines and budgets while resolving conflicting demands of customers and stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

Manage activities of a cross-functional project team, including direct and indirect reports, small department or subgroup

•Provide direction, training, and guidance to assigned staff as well as mentoring development of new project managers and team members

•Ensure adherence to corporate policy and procedures

•Achieve project objectives within set parameters that align with strategic objectives (budget, resources, time targets, etc.)

 

Key Position Accountabilities

1. Develop, manage, and implement project objectives that support business initiatives; managing to financial and business requirements within the project scope

2. Research, develop and recommend strategy for portfolio management; incorporating project management philosophies throughout the organization

3. Drive project management standards, including KPI's, metrics and compliance to the standards by the various sub-project teams

4. Enable effective change management practices

 

Knowledge & Skills

•Oversees execution of key cross-functional projects in support of the strategy. • Overall understanding of business objectives and influence of department on the achievement of those objectives.

 

Primary accountability for the performance of: 

• Provides input into attainment of strategy for area of accountability.

• Develops the tactical plan for the area of accountability as a reference point to execute strategy.

• Makes decisions using detailed analysis, integration and constructive thinking. ·

• Determines how resources are allocated within the area of accountability.

•Manage activities of a cross-functional project team, including direct and indirect reports, small department or subgroup

•Provide direction, training, and guidance to assigned staff as well as mentoring development of new project managers and team members PMP Certification from PMI and/or other project management training is required. Lean greenbelt certifications (VSM, RCA, FMEA, and/or QFD) preferred.

• Interacts with other departments to coordinate activities.

• Influences employees within function to enable decision making. Necessary to perform the job at the minimum acceptable level. 

 

• 4-year secondary degree, plus advanced degree preferred. • Has responsibility for making decisions and managing risks that would have little or no impact on the assets of the Company. 

• 3 - 5 years in discipline.

 

PMP Certification from PMI and/or other project management training is required. Lean greenbelt certifications (VSM, RCA, FMEA, and/or QFD) preferred.
