Job Title: Sales Engineer - WIDIA Chicago
Geographic area: Remote, Home Office
Work site location: Chicago, IL.

Job Summary
To provide new sales and retain existing sales within assigned accounts through direct selling or by providing application or field service support which includes product application solutions.

Key Job Responsibilities
•    Responsibility for annual Sales target achievement
•    Responsible for assigned customers (distribution partners & end-users) to develop & manage relationship with all relevant stakeholders of the customer
•    Identify & prospect new customers (distributors & end-user) target account planning
•    Promote products and services; influence the product selection by pushing & driving campaigns & promotions, stocking orders, product launches & specific deals
•    Commercial and technical support of distributors & end users
•    Organization and participation in customer events and exhibitions
•    Ensuring profitable growth vs prior year according to objectives and sales targets
•    Understanding and application of Widia sales processes (incl. pricing) and application of the sales supporting tools (CRM Microsoft Dynamics, NOVO, Quoting Engine)
•    Report visits, projects, activities, opportunities and achievements in CRM
•    Manage multi-level-sales-approach and partner with relevant functions (e.g. include sales manager, sales director, customer service, …)


Knowledge & Skills
•    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or relevant field 
•    3 or more years of relevant experience or non-degreed with 7 or more years of relevant experience
•    In depth understanding of the metal cutting or precision tooling industry
•    An innovative and self-motivated marketer whom is able to work independently with little supervision
•    Proficiency with MS Office in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
•    Ability to apply technical solutions to customers
•    Previous sales experience is preferred
•    Understanding of contracts and previous experience leading commercial negotiations is preferred
