Sourcing Manager EMEA (m/w/d)



Job Summary


Are you a sourcing professional with indirect material experience looking for a challenge in a global, dynamic, and innovative sourcing environment, focusing on living out sustainability ambitions and do you want to be a central enabler and creator of value in our organization.

Located in our plant in Fuerth, Germany. You will lead the execution of the regional and local strategy in line with the global strategy directions, production, logistic team and indications for Sourcing of Indirect materials and services in order to achieve Kennametal's objectives in terms of Delivery, Quality and Cost.



Key Job Responsibilities

  • Key Metrics & Outcomes include Ethics, Total Cost Reduction, Strategic Sourcing Strategies to Identify Improvements, Execute Plans for Improvement, Avoidance of Sole Source Items, DPO, Delivery Performance, Quality, Inflation Mitigation, Compliance to Conflict Mineral Policies.
  • Responsible to co-create and implement the sourcing strategies for Global Commodities
  • Responsible to create and execute the implementation of sourcing strategies for regional and local Commodities.
  • Cooperate with suppliers and internal stakeholders (global and local)
  • manage cross-functional projects, build and develop strong and mutual beneficial partnerships to fulfill the overall procurement targets within cost optimization, increasing value and contractual compliance. (KPI)
  • Responsible for EMEA Indirect Sourcing team management
  • Drive the annual Business Review Meetings with key suppliers.
  • Leverage market data and create various price/service models
  • Develop market expertise of market drivers and market dynamics and be able to effectively convey market understanding to wide audience of stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Global Sourcing Functional Excellence Team
  • Act as a liaison between the manufacturing sites within the businesses and the Sourcing organization
  • Support Operations according to escalation process.
  • travel content up to 30%






Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • Bachelor and/or master within a relevant field of study (Business, Supply Chain, Engineering).
  • Proven track record within strategic procurement and/or category management (+5 years).
  • SAP or other ERP system usage experience.
  • Advanced people management skills.
  • Motivated by leading negotiations. Goal-oriented and proactive. Strong communication skills.
  • Business Acumen – Driven by entrepreneurship.  Able to set priorities and establish priorities.
