Machine Maintenance Technician

2nd Shift



Performs duties in support of the maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment, and plant facilities, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.


Essential Functions

- Performs typical routine and preventative maintenance tasks to support the production floor and the entire facility, including electrical, painting, plumbing, heating/cooling system as needed.

- Provide Planned/Emergency and Unscheduled repairs of production equipment and facilities as needed.

- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Foreman.


Typical duties and tasks

- Regular attendance.

- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

-  Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

- Must be able to install, troubleshoot, and maintain typical industrial hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems. The electrical systems include programmable controllers, motor control, and relay logic.

-  Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust as needed.

- Perform general duties such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, machine repair, painting, and janitorial.


Qualifications and Experience

- High School Diploma or GED; 2+ years maintenance-related experience in a manufacturing environment.

- Demonstrated ability with precision and hand tools, material handling equipment.

- Ability to perform, but not limited to electrical, machine repair, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, plant layout, painting, and janitorial

-  Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

-  Ability to communicate with co-workers and supervisors.

- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds unassisted occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently, 5 lbs. constantly; constant walking; frequent climbing ladders and steps, kneeling, reaching, grasping, hearing, talking; occasional crouching, crawling, pushing, pulling, fingering, feeling, repetitive motion.

- Visual acuity needed to perform activities such as seeing a job within arm’s reach, perform mechanical tasks.

- Exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, humidity, cold, noise, odors, dust, confined spaces; moving parts.

- PPE Required: steel-toed shoes, safety glasses; Arc Flash protective gear, welding masks as job-specific, overhead hoists, powered industrial trucks, and other material handling devices/equipment.

- Ability to work varying shifts as production demands necessitate.

- Ability to work alone, make judgments, perform under stress, attain tolerance, and perform a variety of duties without loss of efficiency or composure.
