Engineering Technician

Greenfield, MA

We are a cutting tool manufacturer that manufactures a wide range of threading taps. We are searching for a driven, detail-orientated engineering technician to join our fast-paced manufacturing organization. In this role, the successful candidate will provide technical support to manufacturing, assisting with the smooth operation of manufacturing cells. You should be able to work independently providing effective solutions as well as suggestions for improvement.

To be successful as an engineering technician, you should be able to work well on a team. Outstanding engineering technicians are self-starters with a desire to make improvements, possess a superb work ethic, and have strong technical and interpersonal skills. 


  • Work with the leadership team and manufacturing personnel to provide solutions to a variety of manufacturing challenges.
  • Create, troubleshoot, and modify programs in G and M code, as well as other languages, in a variety of lathe turning and grinding work centers.
  • Communicate progress status daily to team members and leadership.
  • Be key in guiding daily planning and execution of production.
  • Manage machine requirements, including files, infrastructure, etc.
  • Be key in the selection, planning, and installation of new equipment and floor layout improvement.
  • Be key in the selection/specification/reordering of tooling and needed components.
  • Analyze operations and offer suggestions for improvement as well as make improvements.
  • Maintain records, files, and documentation.
  • Be key in operator training, set-ups, and troubleshooting.


Required Capabilities:

  • Experience creating, updating, and troubleshooting CNC programs.
  • Experience with older CNCs as well as newer generations.
  • Experience with technical drawing, and AutoCAD.
  • Possessing skills and experience in troubleshooting/repair of CNC machines/controllers is a plus.
  • Experience working with vendors to repair equipment is a plus.
  • Experience with CNC turning lathes primarily, as well as CNC grinding centers a plus.
  • Skills and experience relating to machine networking and connectivity would be a plus.



  • BS degree in engineering. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and time management.
  • Excellent health and safety knowledge.
  • Ability to collaborate and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superb organization skills.
