Specialist Accounting & Reporting Austria/Hungary

 

 

Job Summary

We are looking for a Specialist in Accounting & Reporting who will be responsible for the general accounting of the Kennametal branches in Austria (Brunn) and Hungary (Gyoer) including monthly closing activities as well as annual preparation of the local financial statements. The branches are integrated into central group processes, so that a Shared Service organization provides support.

Furthermore, the ideal candidate will be is responsible for the local processes within tax compliance, supported by a central Tax department and external service providers.

 

Local activities include, among other things, responsibility for:

Month-end-/ year-end tasks

  • Calculation of defined accruals as well as BS and P&L review
  • Ensuring the correct and timely submission of the monthly VAT and Intrastat declarations
  • Support of operational controlling in planning, forecast and deviation analysis
  • Preparatory work for the local financial statements and support of our external service providers

Compliance tasks:

  • Account reconciliations as well as creation of meaningful documentation
  • Process defined SOX controls and monitor compliance
  • Responsible for compliance to local legal requirements such as e-reporting (Hungary)

Regularly activities in the context of ongoing financial and payroll accounting, such as:

  • Monitoring of payment-related processes (creditors, travel expenses, taxes and duties, etc.) including checking and posting the travel expense statements and petty cash register
  • Tasks in the area of payroll accounting (from providing relevant information to reconciliation and booking in SAP and ensuring on-time payments)

Other related tasks in the accounting and controlling area (e.g. corporate requests)

Responsibility for the coordination of internal and external audits

 

Requirements:

  • at least commercial education (apprenticeship, higher graduation) with relevant professional experience in accounting, preferably in a corporate environment
  • very good language skills (in writing and speaking): German, Hungarian, English
  • IT skills: MS Office, SAP
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Structured, independent, and solution-oriented way of working
  • communication and team skills

            Willingness to travel regularly (AT, HU, GER)
