Job Title:  Facilities Engineer

Job Location:  Henderson, NC

 

JOB DUTIES:

 

  • Estimates costs related to layout design, including equipment and materials, labor, etc. and monitors the construction/installation process
  • Researches production/processing equipment for purchase and gathers data relating to their ability to meet organizational needs
  • Works with local management/staff to ensure that established efficiency and safety targets are met
  • Engineering lead within production/continuous improvement teams and provides engineering support to local production, EH&S, and maintenance staff

·       Updates existing and creates new P&IDs of a Process Safety Management-covered (PSM) process using AutoCAD

·       Updates existing and creates new electrical schematics using AutoCAD

·       Maintains Mechanical Integrity information for a PSM-covered process

·       Organizes and maintains all engineering drawings and PLC configurations

·       Participates in Management of Change, Hazard Risk Assessments, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews for a PSM-covered process

·       Works closely with the maintenance staff to troubleshoot plant processes as needed; to include mechanical, electrical, and control

        components

·       Designs, specifies, manages the installation of, and commissions new production processes and equipment

·       Develops Capital Expenditure Requests for new plant processes/equipment

·       Reports to the Facility Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Preferred experience with plant controls and instrumention to include but not limited to: thermocouples, RTDs, VFDs, motor starters, relay switches, 3-phase motors, level controls, pressure controls, motion switches, limit switches, PLCs, flow meters
  • Must be able to use both hands at the same time while pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, lifting, stooping and walking. 
  • Must wear required protective equipment, where required. 
  • Must be able to work for long periods of time while standing. 
  • Must have good eye/hand coordination with all physical movements--well-coordinated.  Moderate to heavy lifting required (33.1 lbs).
  • Must have good troubleshooting, mathematical, organizational and record keeping skills. 
  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited University
  • Minimum of 3-years engineering experience in a manufacturing/heavy industrial environment
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software
  • PLC programming experience preferred (Honeywell, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
