Carbide Furnace Operator - 12 hour rotating nights

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

·         Observe all safety rules and wear appropriate PPE, where required.  Report all safety incidents, unsafe acts and conditions.

·         Loads boats and places boats into furnace

·         Unloads boats

·         Maintain temperature of furnaces with pyrometer

·         Maintains records of furnace temperature and furnace production

·         Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on furnaces

·         Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Equipment Used:

 

Personal Protective Equipment, Crane, Scale, Screeners, Scoops, Furnaces, Load/Unload Tables, Powder Bins, Pyrometer, Forklift, and Tow Motor

 

Skills/Knowledge Required:

·         Must be able to read and write

·         Good interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment

·         Basic Mathematical Skills

·         Record Keeping Skills

 

Physical Requirements:

 

·         Must be able to use both hands at the same time while pushing, pulling, twisting bending, lifting, stooping, and walking

·         Must be able to work for long periods, while standing

·         Must have good eye/hand coordination with all physical movements well coordinated

 

Job Conditions & Hazards:

 

·         Moderate Dust

·         Must be able to lift a minimum of 25kgs

·         Potential strains, pinch points, and lacerations

·         Hot Surfaces

 

Education Guidelines:

 

·         High School Diploma or GED

 

Experience Guidelines:

 

·         Minimum of one year experience working in a manufacturing environment
