The Infrastructure Pricing Team leads the drive toward Value Based Pricing and Infrastructure pricing strategy development, price/market analysis at the customer, segment, and regional levels, and implementation of solutions in support of Kennametal’s strategic objectives. The pricing team owns the global processes for pricing applied to standard product, custom solutions, and services/solutions globally, and engages appropriate inputs from Product Management, Sales Management, and Segment Leaders.

The Sr. Pricing Analyst will support the Infrastructure Pricing Manager in the implementation of improvement opportunities supporting objectives of primarily the North America Infrastructure organization. The role is responsible for analysis to resolve/troubleshoot pricing related matters, identify potential solutions, and implement preventive measures to sustain improvements made. The responsibilities of the role include strong cross-functional collaboration, including direct engagement with the Regional Sales team, Global Product Management, and Customer Service.
Responsibilities:
- Develop an understanding of the rules and processes for pricing throughout Infrastructure locations.
- Must proactively assess the integrity of pricing requests to ensure that changes are implemented according to business guidelines.
- Understand customer price model structures to update and proactively maintain the models.
- Conduct pricing and profitability analysis. Support strategies and margin goals through analysis of existing programs.
- Apply pricing rules, policies, and decisions firmly and consistently, and provide detailed explanations supporting decisions. Research pricing discrepancies and propose solutions to factually resolve pricing disputes.
- Assess list price, discounts, actual price, concessions, contractual obligations, target-based programs, etc. for optimization opportunities.
- Analyze price and margin performance reports. Provide pricing support for assigned projects and teams.
- Support the timely resolution of pricing discrepancies in support of improved customer satisfaction, contractual obligations, and pricing rules/policies.
- Ensure pricing and related data integrity is maintained and continuously improved to promote customer price accuracy and aid in the execution of pricing actions.
- Participate in the design and development of new pricing systems, processes, and reports. Responsible for testing new/improved solutions and contributing to and/or leading cross-functional training for successful implementation.
