Sales Engineer 


Job Summary:


The Sales Engineer will be responsible for increasing Kennametal’s market share by soliciting and obtaining orders and partnerships with key customers in targeted markets that are optimal to Kennametal’s product portfolio and cost position. The primary focus of this role is within the automotive manufacturing industry.





  • Attain assigned sales goals by identifying and qualifying customer need and by selling business to new buyers.
  • Maintain high impact customer relationships with current accounts to expand market share.
  • Identify new sales opportunities through presence at all levels.
  • Perform sales forecasting, account planning and other related sales tasks to grow business profitably.
  • Responsible for carbide cutting tool sales in an automotive territory.
  • Provide technical service to existing customer base, while seizing sales opportunities at new potential customers.
  • Selling “Value” to customers by providing cost savings and technical ability.
  • Establish and profile target accounts with high potential cutting tool sales.
  • Conduct technical training seminars with end users.




1 – 2 years (or more) of relatable work experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Engineering, CNC machining, and/or cutting tool industry.

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work independently without constant supervision
