An excellent opportunity has become available to join Kennametal as a Sales Manager leading the Industrial Aerospace division in UK & Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Aero Sales and Application Engineers to deliver the annual sales plan for the Aerospace division.


We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with excellent leadership skills that is able to demonstrate a sophisticated level of expertise. A dynamic individual with ambition & drive with excellent sales and networking skills.

From milling cutters and carbide inserts, to solid carbide drills, tool holders and so much more, we offer our customers a broad portfolio for any metal working application.




  • Customer support for specific existing Key Accounts and acquisition of new customers in the Aerospace industry.
  • Managing an experienced sales team consisting of Sales Engineers and Application Engineers.
  • Responsibility of annual Regional Sales Plan definition (with UK Country Manager).
  • Maintain and generate new business opportunities for Kennametal’s portfolio of cutting-edge products.
  • Enhancement of customer relations.
  • Business Development in own sales area.
  • Define (with UK Sales Director) targets and achieve profitable growth % per FY.
  • Realization of KMT sales processes & application of system tools (CRM, NOVO).
  • Leadership in the respective area of responsibility.
  • Organizational Development, Succession & Talent Management, Performance Management.
  • Cooperation with Global Key Account, Engineering, Marketing, Corporate Functions and Production Plants.
  • Preparation of market analyses and detailed consideration of the KPIs as well as establishment of resulting measures.


Typical Education and work experience


  • Degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or comparable degree in engineering with a commercial background.
  • Alternatively, a degree in economics or business administration, strong technical affinity and experience in sales of advanced technical products in the Aerospace industry.
  • Several years’ experience in sales of advanced technical products in an industrial environment, preferably Mechanical Engineering, Machine Tools, Tooling Industries.
  • Experience working with Direct Sales, Distribution, End customers and Integrators.
  • Proficiency in Change Management / structuring of Sales processes and organizations.
  • Marketing skills.
  • Preparation of analysis, customer strategies, action plans, follow-up.
  • Proficiency with MS Office in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.


Base Location


Home based with frequent travel to customer sites in UK & Ireland.
