Technical Sales Engineer – UK. Southwest Region

(Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Cornwall, Wiltshire, and South Wales)

Up to £50k, Bonus, Hybrid/EV car, Private Medical, Superb overall package

With our core accounts currently within GL, SN, NP, BA, BS, DT & TA postcodes, we’re looking for a multi-skilled sales engineer who will be given full autonomy to cover the Southwest and treat this region as their own business to make this their own success story. You could be currently in a Pre-sales client facing role looking for progression or currently a sales engineer looking for a fresh challenge.


The Technical Sales Engineer is expected to be visiting customers across their region to sell Kennametal’s extensive range of tooling products whilst being responsible for maintaining the current customer base, Pipeline, and enquiries, whilst exploring new business opportunities.


You need to have a deep understanding of how CNC Machines function to be able to provide process solutions and optimisation to current and potential clients.


To be successful as our Technical Sales Engineer, you will have the following skills / experience as a minimum:

  • Previous experience as a multi-skilled Machinist, Applications or Sales Engineer
  • Technical knowledge to demonstrate solutions and benefits to support customers.
  • Providing high levels of customers service throughout the sales process.
  • Confidence in a customer-facing role and the ability to handle objections.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and being customer focused.
  • Liaising with stakeholders/internal departments to ensure Service Level Agreements are achieved.
  • Keep up to date with the market, competitor trends.
  • Full UK driving license (Max 3 points), Frequent Travel (up to 80%)
