Kennametal’s Emerging Leadership Program
EMERGE, Kennametal’s early-career leadership development program, is focused on building emerging leaders within Kennametal through diverse experiences to expand their perspectives, develop functional expertise, and accelerate career development.
EMERGE will equip participants with leadership, professional, and technical skills necessary to drive performance and integration among business functions. This immersive program is 2 years in duration with diverse functional rotations within Kennametal’s IT, Finance, Operations, Technology, or Commercial business tracks. Participants must be willing to relocate or travel during the program. Post completion of the program, position placement will be based on successful performance throughout the program, and into a role based on your strengths and interests, as well as business need at that time.

- IT - Our Information Technology Team is a trusted business partner translating needs into technical solutions and protecting our assets.
- Finance - Our Finance Team partners with the business every day to enable strategic decision making while delivering best-practice financial processes, measurement, and execution.
- Operations - Our Operations Team is at the heart of what we do. Focused on manufacturing, this team helps drive the success of our various business segments and our customers.
- Technology - Our Technology Team develops innovative new materials, products, and processes to support our customers and manufacturing teams.
- Commercial - Our Commercial Team combines a technical and business mindset to deliver the most valuable products, solutions, and know-how to our customers every day.

Program Highlights
- 1-week corporate onboarding and assimilation including leadership series, philanthropic activities, introduction to professional development trainings, and plant site visits as one EMERGE Cohort.
- Formalized mentorship program with a separate career and peer mentor.
- Robust and rewarding rotations within functional tracks (most rotations will require both corporate and plant assignments).
- On-going learning journey to enhance technical, professional, and leadership acumen.
- Working side-by-side with other professionals, at various locations and levels of the organization, to develop a strong foundation and skillset.
Program Eligibility
- Completing final academic year in one of the following fields: STEM, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, Business, or other related field of study.
- Strong organization, facilitation, leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical approach to problem solving.
- Candidates with a minimum overall GPA of a 3.2, preferred.
