Job Title: Intern – Material Sciences

Location:  Latrobe, PA - Technology Center


Job Description:

Kennametal Technology is seeking a summer intern at our Technology Center in Latrobe, PA, to work in the Carbide Process Development group, on engineering projects related to powder processing and shaping of carbide.  This project is ideal for a material science, chemical engineer, or mechanical engineer having completed their junior or senior years.  Knowledge of, or hands-on experience with chemistry, powder milling/atomization/compaction, powder metallurgy, statistical process control, finite element analysis, or LEAN principles are valuable for this position.  Work is mainly located in Latrobe, PA, but may also require travel to manufacturing plants.


Job Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must have a valid driver’s license

Preferably a student in their junior year at an accredited University.  Focus of study in engineering or material sciences preferred.

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

Strong written and verbal communication skills a must.

Term of internship will run from May to August, 2020.
