Job Title: Technician – Material Analysis
Locaation: Latrobe, PA

 

Position Summary:

 

Position is required to maintain high quality and expertise levels for a limited number of sample preparation and analysis processes in the metrology lab. Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills are required. Must be adaptable to change and able to optimize workload to maximize productivity while providing reliable test results.

 

Tasks:

  • Operate metrology measurement equipment on various test samples, drills, endmills, and various insert geometries.
  • Standardize, calibrate, and perform basic preventive maintenance and repair on lab equipment.
  • Perform basic routine processes that require close interaction with other technicians, engineers, and Supervisor.
  • Communication between colleagues to effectively facilitate testing
  • Strictly adhere to standard procedures developed at the Technology Center.
  • Provide training to colleagues at local and remote locations.
  • Follow all EHS regulations.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion.

 

Skills / Experience:

  • Ability to use gages for measurements in metric and inch.
  • Mechanical machining background beneficial.
  • Basic PC skills in spreadsheets and word processing. 
  • Attention to detail and excellent verbal communications and technical writing skills.
  • Lab experience, data reporting and implementation of standardized procedures.
  • Previous machine shop experience would be beneficial.

 

Education:

  • Technical degree (science, math, computer) or high school diploma and 3 years practical experience in a technical function.
