Mechanical Designer – Latrobe, PA

ROLE SYNOPSIS

This position works with all related Manufacturing plants worldwide and the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering group to identify opportunities and improve processes through the application of new equipment and systems, improved programming techniques, process evaluation/improvements, material handling, and other engineering related areas.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute key tasks and projects of a complex nature.
  • Perform analysis of a complex nature and develop recommendations in support of achieving business objectives.
  • Create and develop 3D CAD models and drawings.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Develops and/or transitions new and/or improved processes to manufacturing, which includes the preparation of procedures and other manufacturing documentation.  Provides on-site assistance at manufacturing locations for trouble-shooting, quality improvements, capability issues & productivity improvement.
  • Drives process improvements, standardization & optimization through current product evaluation versus theoretical expectations. Will then advise advancements to Engineering staff in manufacturing and RD&E.
  • Requires a basic proficiency in the use of the CAD system and the manipulation of CAD parts, accurately dimension designs and create proper assemblies and components, use ANSI and ISO standard dimensioning, tolerancing and GD&T practices.
  • High School, 2 years of vocational education preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
