Summer Internship, Global Machining Technology (GMT)
Location: Latrobe, PA

Job Description:
 

*RESPONSIBILITIES [% time]:*
 

Will work closely with GMT engineers and GMT Metal Cutting Lab technicians to:

1. Support Aerospace Initiative Training demos to machine Aero Engine Inconel component and Titanium structural part including turning, drilling, indexable milling and solid carbide milling operations. Assist drafting training demo storyboards, demo video creation and editing, and creating technical training documentations. A good opportunity to deep understand 3-axis and 5-axis machine centers as well as mill-turn machine center. [50%]
2. Involved in metal cutting tests (Turning, Milling, Holemaking) in design, conduction, and results analysis to evaluate tool performance, wear pattern/mechanism on different workpiece materials. [30%]
3. Utilize high-speed camera for chip formation analysis and dynamometer for cutting force measurements. [20%]

• Metal cutting background is preferred
