Job Summary

Kennametal is looking for an experienced Global Product Manager to support our Solid Carbide End Milling Portfolio.

You will be responsible for your product categories within the Kennametal Metalcutting Demand Generation Team. Managing product lifecycle and all aspects of the marketing mix, our product managers directly impact and drive the complete value stream and portfolio composition. This position develops strategy and vision, working closely with commercial and engineering teams to translate trends and market requirements into world class tooling solutions for our customers.

 

Tasks:

  • You will start out with a strong focus on business development in the greater Americas Region.
  • As a leader, you will own Product life Cycle Management for a defined part of our Solid Carbide End Milling Range of Products.
  • Support the global commercial and regional product management teams with advanced level product trainings and commercial awareness measures.
  • Develop the marketing strategy by maintaining and socializing a Product Roadmap to generate a compelling pipeline of new product ideas and projects
  • Owns new product commercialization and takes an active role to achieve product line sales targets, market share growth and profitability to plan by region
  • Assess product performance and price positioning of the product lines. Define proper actions accordingly to adjust to the current and future market environment
  • Liaise with operations teams like Supply Chain, (Strategic) Manufacturing and purchasing to improve leverage and drive synergies with the demand generation team.

 

Requirements:

  • Engaging personality with an ability to push and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently. You are a team player with great collaboration and inter-personal skills.
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or Business Management with a good understanding of manufacturing processes and machining.
  • Level of this position will be determined on selected candidate’s education and experience
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in Product Management, technical sales, marketing, or engineering with proven commercial exposure.
  • MBA or proven proficiency with metal cutting tools is considered a strong advantage.
  • Previous industry experience in the die and mold, medical and aerospace sector is highly preferred.
  • Ability to lead, organize and implement product marketing initiatives in a truly international setting.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Very good English language skills with excellent written and oral communication,
  • Willingness to travel globally
