Program Manager – Value Engineering

Latrobe, PA (Hybrid Schedule option)

 

Job Summary:

This role is intended to be a regional expert for Value Engineering (VE), managing and reporting a related program with product-driven projects, managing priorities, targets, and resources in a global steering team to build and keep our products attractive for our customers over a product life cycle.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Establishment and management of regional and global VE projects
  • Maintenance and reporting of a regional VE program
  • Providence of personal expertise as a regional VE expert
  • Planning, leading, and moderating internal VE workshops
  • Inspiration of cross-functional team members, opening their minds and triggering the most innovative ideas
  • Identification of potential products, prioritization of projects, and planning of involved resources
  • Continues development of VE and execution of related employee training
  • Close collaboration with VE program managers of other regions in a global organization
  • Support of New Products Development Projects with VE expertise

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of Value Engineering and other ideation methods along with willingness for related education and certification
  • Desire to inspire and educate people, along with moderating efficient workshops
  • Ability to build and maintain networks
  • Solid Project Management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High self-management capability
  • Willingness to travel 25% regionally
  • General Kennametal product knowledge, manufacturing processes, and finance processes
