Sourcing Analyst

 The Sourcing Analyst responds directly to the Production Manager

 

PURPOSE

This person is responsible for identifying, creating requisitions, and ordering the materials, supplies, services, and other materials to maintain the needs of plant production. Adhering to Corporate Sourcing policies and procedures for using Preferred Suppliers, use of Purchasing credit card, understanding how to use a Non-Disclosure agreement and a Single Source Justification document, and following the Corporate bid process.    This position is also expected to continually look for cost saving opportunities and document these savings for audit purposes. Responsible for managing Plant Spending Spreadsheet and Accrual spreadsheet to support the Plant Controller. Ensure purchase orders are closed and reconciled in a timely manner.  Support the Supply Parts Specialist (Toolcrib) and Facilities Manager to ensure materials are available for equipment work orders.  Ensure plant ISO Purchasing procedure and associated forms are kept up to date.

 

 

SUPERVISION

This job is usually subject to general work instructions, standardized practices and procedures, and supervision of progress and end results (results such as cost savings, internal customer satisfaction and equipment uptime).

This position should require very little supervision.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

A two-year associates degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred, along with 3 to 5 years of buying or supply experience.

Must be proficient in both PC and network-based computer systems. 

Experience with systems like the following and have the potential to become proficient in these company software systems: Outlook, SAP, QuickBuy and Microsoft programs. 

Knowledge of Kennametal machines and equipment is preferred to provide users with the proper parts and materials.   

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

- Always use safe work practices.

- Maintain a clean work environment and proper 5S + 1 practices and sustainability.

- Plant liaison with Corporate Sourcing.

- Use QuickBuy to create purchase requisitions.

- Answer incoming telephone calls as required.  

- Plant contact for phone system. 

- Purchase items with a Purchasing credit card and reconcile statements and classifications as required.

- Supply materials as required on maintenance work orders so that the work orders can be scheduled according to material availability.

- Understand and use SAP Die Set Management.

- Support Finance by being able to report current state of plant spending.

- Create Blanket/Service purchase orders as needed to maintain flow of repetitive items. 

- Plant contact for Company car through Fleet program.

- Perform above job duties being attentive to details and with a minimum of mistakes.

 

With the level of SAP security needed and the use of a P-card, this position would be considered safety sensitive.
