Tax Analyst Intern

Kennametal is currently seeking a Tax Analyst Intern for Summer 2023 (and beyond on part time basis). The role will be full time during the summer session. Initially the position will be fully on-site in Latrobe for training, but it will eventaully transition to more of a hybrid schedule with 2 to 3 days in person per week. The role could continue on as a part time role when school sessions resume in the fall working 15 to 20 hours weekly around your school schedule.

Tasks:

• Creating customer tax exemption certificates using SOVOS Compliance software (formerly Taxware).
• Analyze Sales tax issues and communicate the solutions to internal and external customers.
• Complete and submit Personal Property Tax Rendition forms.
• Submit Personal Property and Real Estate invoices for payment.
• Work with a third-party provider to coordinate the completion and submission of the Kennametal Stellite LP Sales/Use tax returns and payments
• General Ledger reconciliation of monthly Sales/Use tax activity using excel spreadsheets
• Assist with State Sales/Use tax audit documentation retrieval requests.
• Perform General Ledger account reconciliations

Education requirements:

• Junior or Senior level Accounting, Finance or Business Management major
• GPA:  3.0 or above

Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Possess a high level of accuracy
• Intermediate level Excel skills
• Familiar with SAP ERP system
• Familiar with Microsoft Outlook
