Program Engineer – Gen Eng and Auto


At Kennametal we are looking for an engineer to join us in our technology group in France. Deeply involved with the sales team for the acquisition of new opportunities, you are working on different projects with mainly our Gen Eng and Automobile customers, you will be taking care of defining tools, processes and cost with them and other tasks.


Our headquarters in France will move to Massy (Paris Area) during summer 2022, close to TGV and metro/RER station. Some travel to the customers’ site will be necessary. Home office is possible, partially.


Experience and skills

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or A-level +2 years with experience, preferably with a specialization in manufacturing or production engineering, or comparable education with qualified trainings in the same fields.
  • 5-10 years of experience in discipline
  • Experience in machining and industrialization
  • Very good language skills in English / French (spoken and written), second foreign language will be a benefit.
  • Strong teamwork and high communication skills
  • High autonomy with mission’s prioritization and good time management.
  • Usage of CAM, experience with Catia, NX, Esprit or others.
  • Knowledge of CAD, experience with NX & Autocad or others will be a big asset.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Knowledge of SAP



  • Answer to customer-specific inquiries for the machining of complete components.
  • Support for the creation of 2D or 3D concept drawings to value technical proposals
  • Create commercial offer to customer.
  • Manage internal or external presentations of machining process and tooling solutions.
  • Provide the necessary project documentation (drawings,3D models, etc).
  • Define special tools in coordination with technical departments.
  • Provide technical support for salesforce and customers (machining run-off).
  • Support CAM simulation to value the project.
  • Travel over several days, 25% max. time
