Senior Sales Engineer – Machine Tool Industry


We are looking for a Sales Engineer to taking care of the Machine Tool Industry customers in Northern Italy. You will be part of a business environment which is constantly changing. You will be working on keeping and stablishing relationships with the existing customers, as well as finding new ones.


Your area of working will be the regions of Emilia Romagna, Veneto and Lombardia.



  • Promote sales of tooling equipment and tooling solutions to MTI (Machine Tool Industry) customers, i.e. machine tools builders & machines tool dealers.
  • Establish and develop business with existing and new customers.
  • Become the technical consultant & go-to person for selected MTI customers
  • Generate a solid pipeline of business opportunities utilizing a CRM system.
  • Support user acceptance (run-offs) during project realization at MTI customers
  • Visit customers regularly.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Proposal Departments of MTI quotations and following orders.
  • Update customers about Kennametal new products and proven solutions.
  • Communicate with the local and global Kennametal sales organization about MTI projects.
  • Organize technical seminars, trainings and open houses together with MTI customers.



  • Long-standing engineering and application experience in the Machine Tool Industry/Business required
  • Engineer / Technician specialized in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent background
  • Deep knowledge of machining processes
  • Experience in dealing with customers at different levels
  • Sales and negotiation skills
  • Ability to recognize customer needs and to present customer benefits
  • Presentation skills of complex technical aspects
  • Great communications skills and habit to work in multi-functional teams
  • CAD / CAM knowledge is a plus
  • Driving license
  • Based in Emilia Romagna, Veneto or Lombardia
  • Availability to travel in Northern Italy and occasionally abroad
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
