Supervisor Production

~3rd shift:  Sunday-Thursday: 11:00pm-7:30am


Supervises direct labor within a defined department or shifts, establish, monitor and maintain efficient manufacturing processes and workflow for production demands.  Provide direction, training & guidance to assigned staff. 


Key Job Responsibilities

  • Organize, implement & maintain production process flow
  • Train and supervise staff
  • Establish and maintain quality culture
  • Develop work instructions, workmanship standards & process documentation and ensure they are followed
  • Continuously improve existing operations for increased quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and report findings and recommend solutions to the broader team
  • Liaise with management, production planners and product engineering on all department requirements
  • Provide manufacturing data (i.e., production control charts, reliability, process capability to improve the process and monitor and measure progress to targets
  • Identify and achieve documented cost savings through process improvement
  • Recommend new equipment and manage capital expenditure projects and justification
  • Ability to lead a team of people to drive improvement in all phases of an operation
  • Lead and assist with manufacturing improvement projects
  • Organize meetings with other team members to facilitate growth
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policy and procedures


Key Position Accountabilities

  • Identify and monitor performance indicators that measure how well the group is supporting the plan
  • Plan, maintain and communicate production, manpower, quality to achieve the plan
  • Manage the one-year operating budget for area of responsibility
  • Builds a performance-driven culture through PPM, succession planning, execution of reward systems and talent development


Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s in Engineering or other related fields preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record and working knowledge in a manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of cell custom build, Lean Manufacturing, six sigma and ISO methodology
