The Director of People and Culture will lead on culture practices and provide expertise and support in the areas of Performance Management, Talent Management, Employee Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion, and Organizational Effectiveness. This position reports to the Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.

Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):

  • Partner with executive leadership to drive culture transformation
  • Lead the assessment, development, and execution of KMT’s People and Culture strategy to include: cultural transformation, diversity, equity and inclusion, talent development, talent management and learning and employee engagement
  • Assess and build upon current strategies in alignment with our values, cultural beliefs and enterprise strategies 
  • Provide subject matter expertise and consultation in the areas of people and culture
  • Champion KMT’s journey internally and externally in building a global diverse workforce and culture of inclusion
  • Design and develop leadership programs to ensure robust talent bench, succession plans and career pathing.  Assess the bench and design programs to close the gaps
  • Monitor and assess employee engagement, align programs with enterprise strategy
  • Partner with segment, functional and HR leaders to execute people and culture programs and initiatives
  • Partner with all level leadership to identify and develop talent management strategies, identify gaps, and plan processes to support business initiatives
  • Act as a liaison with other HR teams (COEs) to coordinate development of talent management programs, systems, and processes to support the business
  • Participate in succession planning and key talent review meetings, and oversee strategies to accelerate development of key talent and successor candidates
  • Own high-potential management and development programs that align with long-range business strategies
  • Improve organizational effectiveness through the development and deployment of solutions to drive a performance culture
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to implement strategies for employee engagement and retention
  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics and provide reports that support decision making in specified areas
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and advise corporate leadership on needed actions.



  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred), and a minimum of 10 years of HR experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to lead meetings and presentations, and ability to interface with all levels in the organization with tact and diplomacy
  • Must be a collaborative team player, possess a strong customer service orientation, and be a problem solver
