Manager External Reporting

Pittsburgh, PA  or  Latrobe, PA 

 

 

Description of duties and responsibilities:

The Manager External Reporting is responsible for the accurate, complete, compliant and timely preparation and issuance of external financial reports filed with the SEC including Form 10-Q/K and periodic reports (8-K) and related XBRL filings in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulation.

 

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepares and presents, as requested, materials to support the effective functioning of the Disclosure Review Committee and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors

 

  • Directs or participates in the preparation and review of other SEC filings, e.g., proxy statement, registration statements, etc.

 

  • Coordinates with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with the company’s decisions on accounting and disclosure matters.

 

  • Prepares the financial press release and directs or prepares non-GAAP reconciliations

 

  • Reviews all publicly furnished financial information included earnings scripts, slide presentations, the glossy section of the annual report, and non-financial press releases to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulation.

 

  • Balancing the needs of the business and local statutory reporting requirements of foreign subsidiaries, leads the timely application and implementation of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations and related corporate-wide accounting policies, practices, records and processes to assure compliance on a global basis. 

 

  • Reviews and assesses emerging accounting to determine their applicability to the company.

 

  • Maintains the library of corporate accounting policies.

 

  • Provides technical accounting advice and directs the global application of US GAAP on significant restructuring initiatives, acquisitions, divestitures or other complex matters.

 

  • Leads the process on ensure the effectiveness of the company’s SOX management assessment

 

Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Ability to execute in a multi-national environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage project teams to achieve deadlines and objectives
  • Desire and potential for further leadership roles in the organization beyond financial reporting

 

Education and experience required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • CPA with a minimum of four years of experience with a Big 4 accounting firm with exposure to SEC and financial reporting
