Market Portfolio Manager (MPM) 

Location: Remote position. Prefer applicant reside in Eastern or Central Time zones.

The role of the Market Portfolio Manager (MPM) is a key strategic role in the business unit and typically is relied on to guide activities across the portfolio’s value chain to ensure long term profitability. The MPM will work closely with commercial and operations to develop and implement plans that align the resources of the company against the customer’s needs in the segment. This role is mostly strategic in nature and will be responsible to gather segment specific VOC, develop annual Market Area Plans (5 years segment view), coordinate and develop Strategic Plans for the segment and explore disruptions.


Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Support business unit Vice President, General Manager and/or Directors in creation and execution of BU strategy
  • Drive the product and business-planning programs across cross-functional & regional teams of the company and report on achievement of business objectives
  • Analyze markets, competitors, and macroeconomic trends to identify risks and opportunities
  • Identify emerging issues relevant to area of accountability and adjusts execution plan to address issues
  • Responsibility for global product portfolio positioning, value proposition development, product lifecycle planning, conducting voice-of-customer, messaging, marketing and brand strategy
  • Work directly with sales leaders, product managers, business unit leaders, and on an independent basis to develop and deploy strategic pricing programs and methodologies 
  • Manage day-to-day responsibilities of metal powders, thermal spray and hardfacing segment(s) pricing teams
  • Accountability for Revenue/Product/COGS range from $120M-$180M


Education/Experience Requirements


  • 4-year secondary degree in Engineering or Business/Marketing.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in Product Management or Marketing Management
  • Strategic thinking & analytical skills required.
  • Leading multi-functional collaboration and/or project management experience preferred.
  • Industry experience related to business unit market segments preferred
