Sr Staff Auditor

Kennametal is seeking an inquisitive and proactive individual for an exciting opportunity with our Audit team in the Pittsburgh, PA downtown offices.  

 

Main Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in audits and reviews of systems, processes and procedures, with an emphasis on internal controls and business ethics at the corporate and manufacturing level and for multiple businesses in locations throughout the Americas.

• Lead and participate in audits by planning and scoping, conducting audit opening/closing/status meetings, executing audit programs, conducting interviews, and testing, documenting findings, making recommendations, preparing, and reviewing work papers, assisting management in determining audit opinions, and writing and reviewing findings and audit reports.

• Interpret the significance of audit findings, conclude on findings and make practical recommendations.

• Prepare audit reports to document audit scope, procedures, findings and recommendations. Manage work requirements and budget to meet assigned initiatives.

• Communicate with and educate process owners effectively, including non-finance individuals, on the importance of controls, an effective control environment, and the role of Internal Auditor.

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics

• 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience

• Ability to work with teams cross-functionally.

• Ability to navigate through ambiguity, manage and coordinate multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability and willingness to take initiative to address problems and make continuous process improvements.

• Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA/CA/CIA/PMP certification.

• Big Four Accounting Firm experience.
