Digital Designer

 

As we revitalize the Kennametal brand, we’re looking for a talented Digital Designer to help transform our vision to life. Reporting to the Manager Global Digital eCommerce, this role will support digital customer experience projects from conception to production, including websites, marketing collateral, campaigns, social media, and all other end customer digital touchpoints.

 

To be successful you will translate technical information to design, structure, guidelines, standards, and establish consistency cross all platforms and medium. The ideal candidate is passionate and proactive applying creative solutions to a variety of projects in a fast-paced environment. You are expected to produce high-quality and consistent work while considering both small pixel details and large business goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Use an array of design skills, including visual, conversational, information architecture, prototyping, and user research.
  • Uphold and improve brand consistency throughout all marketing projects.
  • Generate ideas and seek opportunities to elevate both Kennametal and Widia brands to create impactful design solutions.
  • Develop wireframes and visual experiences to support business and user goals.
  • Use analytics and industry benchmarks to establish the best overall design elements to include in successful user experiences.
  • This person will make strategic and tactical UX decisions related to design and usability as well as features and functions.
  • Creates low and hi fidelity wireframes that represent a user's journey as they interact with the website and app.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to run with ideas to move projects forward.
  • Influence and advocate for the creative services teams work while actively listening and interpreting feedback to ensure the end-user experience exceeds expectations of the stakeholder.

 

Requirements

 

  • A bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, UX/UI Design, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in creating and implementing digital design at an agency and/or in-house creative team.
  • Excellent understanding of layout, typography, color, and visual hierarchy.
  • Exceptional with visual design programs including Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Review, provide feedback, and manage agency creative projects.
  • Demonstrate an uncanny level of curiosity; keeps up with the evolving landscape of available tools, technologies, and resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to distill design terminology and concepts down to easily understood language for key stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset with the understanding that you will be interacting with employees across multiple departments including commercial, customer service, creative, marketing, operations, technology and product.
  • Experience with After Effects and Premiere is a plus.
