Lab Technician - Rogers, AR 

 

Job Description:

Kennametal is seeking a technician for the Rogers RD&E laboratory supporting R&D process/product development.  Daily activities include compaction press setup and operation, sinter furnace operation, and associated inspections.  Knowledge of CNC programming, geometric dimension and tolerancing, robotics, and tooling is required.  Proficiency in high school math and science is required.  Knowledge of materials compaction & sintering, mechanical & wear testing, dimensional inspection, and quality control are beneficial. A successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team and support manufacturing operations off-site.  Must follow all company safety policies to assure commitment to a 100% safe work environment.  The position will be primarily based on first shift hours.

 

Additional job duties may include:

  • Hydrualic press operation
  • Powder milling
  • Furnace operation
  • Mechanical & wear testing 
  • Metallurgical preparation & evaulation 

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED required; associate's degree / post high school technical certification / Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least 5 years experience in ceramic or metal powder processes, robotics, press tooling, mechanical testing, and/or metallurgical evaulation. 
  • Ability to read technical drawings and measure parts to print required
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required
  • Technical training in manufacturing discipline or manufacturing environment a plus 
  • Knowledge of EHS, LEAN, or SAP skills a plus
