This position ensures that the ISCL organization has the proper product realization resources in place to deliver the proper cost, quality, and delivery to support Kennametal's business.

 

Key Job Responsibilities

• Guide day-to-day responsibilities of a function or small unit/department

• Develop tactical plans to achieve business results and provide feedback and input on the plan

• Makes decisions using detailed analysis, integration, and constructive thinking.

• Monitor processes and provide reports on progress and achievement of business goals

• Optimize resources allocation and utilization Financial/Business Accountability Depth and breadth of the position's responsibilities, as measured by revenue, budget, size of the business, etc.

 

Key Position Accountabilities

1 Assimilate Marketing and RDE roadmaps with organic sales growth to conduct strategic and tactical planning of the manufacturing physical assets to ensure 98% fill rates of standards 90%

2 Conduct periodic reviews of business objectives and asset deployment to optimize the product realization footprint toward the lowest landed cost.

3 Plan and implement manufacturing footprint consolidations or product transfers

4 Plan and implement projects to reduce manufacturing costs.

 

Knowledge & Skills

• Oversees implementation of key cross-functional projects in support of plan.

• Overall understanding of business goals and impact of department on the achievement of those goals

• Deep mechanical engineering experience in metal cutting required

• Centerless grinding and powder pressing preferred

• Furnace heat treatment experience preferred

• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills

• Writing Capital expenditures for year over year and strategic planning

• Understand a sense of urgency

• Lean manufacturing and six sigma experience is highly preferred

 

Education and Experience:

• 4-year secondary degree, plus advanced degree preferred.

• 8+ years in discipline.

• 3 - 5 years of management experience

 

Additional Key Position Accountability: Lead the Safety Leadership Committee and develop the site Safety Flight Plan, and monitor progress and clear any organizational barriers that may prevent achieving goal of 100% Safe. Establish and enforce safety environment with clear roles and responsibilities, and regularly monitor performance using Safety Reviews.
