Description of duties and responsibilities:

The (Associate) Product Engineer will work with customers and manufacturing to design and quote new products.  He/she will provide troubleshooting support for existing products.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Interface with customers to gather data for design.
  • Troubleshoot design issues with customers and manufacturing.
  • Design parts, check, and release drawings in CAD.
  • Conduct root cause investigations.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs to support quote process.
  • Create new part numbers in support of quote process.
  • The products to be supported include:
    • Wear components for mining and well completions
    • Extrusion dies for the polyolefins business.

 

Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Spreadsheet proficiency (MS Excel).
  • 3D CAD (Unigraphics NX preferred).
  • Experience in powdered metallurgy preferred.
  • Experience working with polymers like polyethylene and polypropylene preferred.
  • Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics (Ansys)
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and controls preferred.
  • Machine shop experience preferred (milling, turning, drilling, etc.).
  • Training in SAP preferred (quotes, material masters, etc.).

 

Education and experience required:

Associate Engineer level:

  • Bachelor of Science (required) in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  • BS Chemical or Petroleum Engineering will be considered
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience preferred (internship experience applicable)

 

Engineer level:

  • Bachelor of Science (required) in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  • BS Chemical or Petroleum Engineering will be considered
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience required

 

Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship
