CNC Programmer/Processor

Solon, Ohio





Kennametal has a new opportunity available for an experienced CNC Programmer/Processor. This person is responsible for ensuring all daily production issues are complete for the CNC department’s production programs. Receives CAD drawing from the engineering department and produces a CNC program for machining of product and selects tooling to be used for manufacturing. Ensures that those programs successfully operate. Specific duties include:


  • Processor/NC Programmer is responsible for the development of routings, cost estimates and NC programs to support the manufacturing of products.
  • Determine if the operational tasks can be performed in-house and on which machine or if the operation needs to be outsourced to a local vendor.
  • Processor/NC Programmer is responsible for the development of routings, cost estimates and NC programs to support the manufacturing of the products.
  • They will work in conjunction with the Quality department, engineering staff and designers to review designs, Bill of Materials, metallurgical specifications and "Designed for Manufacturing" products.
  • Once the routings and Bill of Materials are correct the candidate will then develop the NC programs required to manufacture the product.



  • 5 or more years’ experience in CNC programming or Machining preferred 
  • SAP and CAM software preferred
  • The candidate should have a high school degree or GED.
  • Vocational or technical training in manufacturing technologies is a plus.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed (8-10 hours per week)
