Tasks

 

Under the direction of Supervisor, Manufacturing:

 

  • Conduct analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished product, using a variety of testing devices and procedures to maintain product quality
  • Perform first part, in-process, and/or final inspection of parts or assemblies
  • Devise unusual gauging or measuring setups to check close dimensional and performance tolerances
  • Provide technical assistance to supervisors and operators on inspection techniques
  • Perform gage calibrations to maintain the required calibration due dates.
  • Use gage calibration software (preferably GagePack) to identify calibration due dates.
  • Perform and coordinate Gage R&R studies for measurement equipment and methods as directed
  • Improve the current gage calibration system. Move all card documents onto GagePack
  • Keep all gaging identified, clean, organized, and stored as required.
  • Requisition parts or services as necessary to maintain gage operation or certification.
  • Repair and adjust inspection equipment as required or necessary.
  • Update existing calibration procedures and create new procedures as needed
  • Coordinate and participate in gage calibration from outside services
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

 

 

Requirements

 

  • High school diploma required, Technical school certificate or Associates degree preferred.
  • 5 – 7 years of manufacturing experience or related
  • Associates Degree in metrology/calibration is preferred but not required.
  • 2 years related Quality experience with knowledge of GD&T, SPC, CMM, and inspection procedures preferred.  Zeiss CMM equipment and Calypso programming experience a plus. Renishaw CMM experience a plus
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Must be able to understand oral and written communications and instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers effectively in both verbal and written form.
  • Must be able to read and understand operating procedures. 
  • Must be able to do basic shop math.
  • Intermittent lifting of up to 35 pounds during shift.
  • Must possess to be self-motivated. And have strong organizational skills
