Quality Calibration Technician

 

Job Summary

The Quality Calibration Technician is responsible for the calibration, routine inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of instruments, meters, gages and other testing and measuring equipment. This job will include troubleshooting and programming of capital inspection equipment, performing GR&R, and monitoring the MSA system. As a member of the Quality Inspection team, the Quality Calibration Technician will be trained and may be asked to perform product inspections or certifications as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities

· Perform calibration, routine inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of instruments, meters, gages and other testing and measuring equipment.

· Perform GR&R and MSA studies

· Maintain and upkeep of Calibration Management Software

· Proactively work with vendors to maintain gages and calibration standards

· Perform in-process inspections of products on the manufacturing floor

· Participate in Quality and Lean projects with cross-functional personnel

· May be required to perform other tasks as needed within the scope of the Quality department

 

Complexity

· Performs specialized technical tasks to support Quality

· Works with a limited degree of supervision with oversight focused on complex new assignments

· Must have a base knowledge of GAGEpack or aptitude to be trained in the application

 

Minimum Requirements

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Vocational training or equivalent industry experience preferred

· 1-3 years of relevant work experience

· CMM operating or programming experience is preferred

· Must be able to use required computer software including but not limited to: SAP, Microsoft Office and GAGEpack

· Gage calibration experience

· Must be able to properly use gages and measurement devices that determine compliance to drawing and product specifications

· Must be able to retrieve and read drawings

· Must be familiar and able to properly interpret insert defect criteria.

· Follows procedures/work instructions for conducting customer certifications.

· Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise.

· Must have effective written and verbal communication

· Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods.
