Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Tianjin – Binhai Xinqu

Job Summary

This position is responsible for Kennametal Tianjin plant (independent legal entity)’s overall financial activities, including but not limited to accounting, reporting, treasury, tax planning, etc. Both statutory reporting and US GAAP reporting are covered by the position


Key Job Responsibilities 

  • Accounting and finance operations for Tianjin plant (internal and external)
  • Statutory and group reporting (US GAAP) for the legal entity
  • Ensure the team operations are compliance with statutory and US GAAP control requirements.
  • Supervises the daily operations of Share Service Center, ensuring that service level agreements with China are met. Supervises the monthly closing related activities, ensure quality and deadline targets are met.
  • Act as the liaison for internal and external audit. Responsible for the timely communication and resolution of identified issues.
  • Responsible to train and mentor the team, identify and implement process optimization / costing saving projects. Develop talent to strengthen team capability, ensure team to run effectively
  • Collaborates with internal and external customers to understand their needs / issues
  • Global reporting on manufacturing variance and cost analysis
  • FP&A on plant financial performance
  • Monitor KPI results to meet the commitment of plan
  • Ensure that adequate and effective internal controls are in place and that processes and policies are established and documented in compliance with corporate requirements.
  • Responsible for guidance over team members’ work and performance. Promote individual development and competency growth of the team.


Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates Required

  • 10 years of relevant experience with 5+ years managerial experience in multinational companies.
  • Proven strength in running an independent legal entity management functions, setting up principles and processes, preferred to be in MNCs.
  • Familiar with standard costing
  • US GAAP knowledge is a MUST
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills, excellent conflict management skills.
  • Experience with lean practices and metrics.
  • Bachelor degree or above in Accounting / Finance discipline, is a plus.
  • Good command of English, both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. SAP) is a plus.
